Myrtle Beach's Parks, Recreation and Sports Tourism Department made a trip to Coastal Carolina University on October 17 for the Hurricane Helene Relief donation drive. Over the past three weeks, residents have donated supplies at recreation centers and Chapin Memorial Library to aid cities in Western Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene, which struck at the end of September. In total, three truck loads, four trailers, and five SUVs were filled with donations. The city expressed gratitude for the community's support in assisting neighboring areas.
