Meridian Moves Initiative Promotes Active Senior Lifestyles

Staff Report / MeridianLocal.org

The City of Meridian, Idaho, is launching a new initiative called Meridian Moves, a series of free community events designed to promote exercise and an active lifestyle among residents. The program will kick off with an instructor-led Fit and Fall Proof Class, featuring participation from the Mayor.

The first event is scheduled for Friday, October 4th, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 264 W Lockhart Ln, Meridian, ID 83646. This program is particularly focused on seniors, helping them maintain an independent and active lifestyle through various skills and activities.

The Fit and Fall Proof Classes have been available in Idaho since 2004 and aim to improve strength, mobility, and balance for older adults to help reduce the risk of falls.

All events under the Meridian Moves initiative are free and open to community members interested in learning new skills and connecting with others. Individuals or groups wishing to host an event within the Meridian Moves program can contact Jake Cluff at jcluff@meridiancity.org.
