MBPD Urges Residents: Protect Belongings, Report Suspicious Activity
Staff Report / MBlocal.org
The Myrtle Beach Police Department advises residents to take precautions to protect their belongings from theft. Always remember to lock your car, including all doors and the trunk. Avoid leaving valuables such as purses, electronics, weapons, and money in your vehicle, as they are easy targets for thieves. It is recommended to turn on exterior lights at home to deter thieves from targeting your property. When parking elsewhere, aim to park in well-lit areas. Additionally, it is important to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities. To make it more difficult for thieves, follow safety measures such as locking vehicles, doors, windows, and setting alarms. Bringing valuables and weapons inside, as well as closing the garage, can help prevent theft. Remember, if you see something suspicious, report it to the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
