Remembering Lives Lost on September 11, 2001

Staff Report / MBlocal.org

On May 2002, Joe Bradley, an operating engineer and recovery worker at Ground Zero, reflected on the experience of coming together as individuals and leaving united. This sentiment echoes with those remembering the events of September 11, 2001.

The memorial acknowledges the lives lost across various departments, including:

- Port Authority Police Department (PAPD): 37 officers

- New York Police Department (NYPD): 23 officers

- Fire Department of New York (FDNY): 343 firefighters

- Other individuals associated with these agencies: S 4, E 214, L 111.

The Myrtle Beach Fire Department shared a message on Facebook, honoring the men and women who lost their lives on that tragic day and recognizing those who suffer from the long-term effects of the events. They emphasized the importance of remembering the heroic actions taken during the crisis and the ongoing sacrifices made by those who responded to the aftermath of the attacks.
