Over the summer, members of high school marching bands participated in band camp to prepare for the upcoming school year. In early August, a visit was made to the band camp at Loris High School to meet with students.

During the visit, senior Sean Herd was interviewed. Unfortunately, Sean passed away the following day in a motor vehicle accident. In accordance with the wishes of the Herd family, the video piece that included Sean has been shared with them and will feature his memory. Horry County Schools extends their deepest condolences to Sean's family, friends, and the Loris High School community.
