**Myrtle Beach Welcomes New Police Officer**

Myrtle Beach, SC – The Myrtle Beach Police Department has officially welcomed its newest member, Officer Calee McClellan. Officer McClellan recently completed her training at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and has been sworn in as a police officer.

Officer McClellan holds a Master’s degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina, which she obtained in December 2023. She also earned a Bachelor’s of Arts with a dual major in Anthropology and Criminal Justice. Her interest in criminal justice began in high school, where she studied criminology, forensic science, psychology, and anthropology.

The new officer draws inspiration from her family’s commitment to community service, which includes roles in local churches, as first responders, and military service. Growing up in Pawleys Island, Officer McClellan holds a special affection for Myrtle Beach and is eager to contribute to the community.
